G Suite

Cloud productivity applications designed for the modern work environment.

Introducing Google Workspace

While going to work used to invariably involve going into a shared office space, today’s technology has enabled the workplace to expand to wherever you are able to get work done. Google’s productivity applications have long reflected the needs of the modern employee, and their modernized Google Workspace suite is no different.

As the next step in the development of Google’s productivity applications, Workspace enables the many familiar software titles that Google has provided over the years to integrate in new and useful ways. Most notably, it takes applications and programs that were once viewed as separate, if connected, services in G Suite and brings them together into a combined environment.

What Can I Do in Google Workspace?

In short, you can accomplish your goals more effectively. Without the need to navigate in and out of different productivity tools, you can work and collaborate in a cumulative environment, allowing multiple processes and tasks to be assigned, contributed to, and completed from a single screen.

Improved Collaborative Capabilities

Google’s core email solution, Gmail, has assimilated its many other collaboration and communication applications into a central hub. Now, you and your team members can email, call, or instant message one another from a single window on a workstation, laptop, or mobile device.

The other core productivity apps also have additional features to promote their collaborative natures. Whether you and your colleagues are working together in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides, new documents can be created directly from Google Chat and feature picture-in-picture capabilities for Google Meet. Any documents linked in these conversations can be previewed, while mentioning a collaborator will give a variety of contextualized options to choose from.

Mobility and Remote Capabilities

Let’s reconsider the name “G Suite” for a moment, and what it implies. The name itself sounds very corporate, reflecting the idea that work needs to be done from an established location, a traditional office space. Compare that to today’s more mobilized workforce, with unprecedented numbers of people working from home on a regular basis, and the name simply doesn’t reflect the capabilities that these solutions unlock.

It is for this reason that Google has rebranded their service to Google Workspace, to better describe the fact that people are increasingly taking care of workplace responsibilities in different places. The collaborative capabilities are just the start—as Google Workspace helps to unify the familiar software suite that we knew from G Suite, it also makes it inherently more portable.

As we said before, work is commonly done outside of the traditional office space. Google Workspace helps make productivity easier from anywhere.
