Please Check your Bank Statements!!!

On December 18 Target reported that there credit card secuirty system has been breached. A total of 40 million credit card numbers have been stolen. Some reports indicate that the card numbers were found on a blackmarket website that sells "dumped" cards, or cards that have had the magnetic strip replicated to blank card.

If you have made any Target purchases between November 27th through December 15 you may be one of the 40 million card holders. There were a total of 6,000 known cards that have been "dumped" and reused.

Here are some tips that can keep you secured.

• Do not send you Credit card information via email
• Do not give your card number over teh phone unless you may have initiated the phone call.
• Change your PIN every 4-6 months
• Log off of any websites that you would have done any transactions on.
• Make sure that you see "HTTPS://" before the site name. This ensures that you are on a secured page.
