Ferrum Celebrates Carol Gieske's Impactful Leadership at Elgin Chamber

On June 23, Ferrum had the privilege of attending the retirement celebration for Carol Gieske, President and CEO of the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce.

Held at Elgin Community College, the event was a meaningful tribute to Carol’s many years of service, leadership, and dedication to the Elgin business community. The celebration brought together local leaders, Chamber members, community partners, and friends to recognize the lasting impact Carol has made throughout her career.

Although Ferrum is still relatively new to the Elgin Area Chamber, it was clear from the room just how deeply Carol is respected and appreciated across the Elgin community. The number of attendees, along with the personal stories shared throughout the event, reflected the relationships she has built and the influence she has had on local business, civic engagement, and community growth.

Several current and former members of the Elgin City Council attended the celebration. Elgin Mayor David Kaptain also shared remarks honoring Carol’s leadership and her many contributions to the community.

One of the highlights of the event was the recognition presented by Illinois State Senator Cristina Castro, who represents the 22nd Senate District, including much of Elgin. Senator Castro presented Carol with an Illinois Senate Resolution honoring and congratulating her on her accomplishments, a rare and meaningful recognition of her service.

Carol’s leadership at the Elgin Area Chamber has helped strengthen connections between businesses, organizations, and community leaders. Her work has supported economic development, member engagement, and the continued growth of Elgin as a vibrant place to live, work, and do business.

For Ferrum, attending this celebration was a reminder of how important strong local leadership is to a thriving business community. The Chamber plays an essential role in bringing people together, creating opportunities, and supporting organizations of all sizes.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Elgin Area Chamber and to witness such a thoughtful celebration of Carol’s career and legacy.
